NQA BLAYED

Nqa Blayed lives on unceded Gadigal land. She is an active contributor and organiser in the Inner Wests’ art and noise communities. With a background in critical theory, autonomous arts, and underground culture she embraces a collaborative ethos. Her recent output includes exhibitions, gigs and workshops.

After graduating from UNSW with a BFA w/ honours she moved her practice to the UK. Her research-based MFA at Central St Martins (UK) related the effect of precarity to social and environmental dynamics through the lens of critical theorists. This sustained inquiry has informed her socially engaged art forms and expanded her studio practice to include the disciplines of sculpture, noise, installation and performance. She encourages her friends and audiences to be creative in their critical reflection of the world around them.
